2022 Member FAQ's

Flexi means flexible, and your membership is exactly that! You are able to attend EFC games at Marvel Stadium or the MCG throughout the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season (subject to any capacity restrictions.)

Flexi memberships include General Admission access to matches, with two options of how to attend. Firstly, you can use your membership to scan into the venue and find seating in the general admission area or standing room. Alternatively, you can use your membership barcode to upgrade to a reserved seat via the relevant ticket agent (Ticketek at the MCG, Ticketmaster at Marvel Stadium.) There is a fee associated with upgrading to a reserved seat depending on the location of the seat, however this is charged at a member discounted rate. You can also purchase additional tickets for non-members at full price should you wish.

For any games deemed 'Fully ticketed', such as ANZAC Day, there is no General Admission access and a reserved seat must be upgraded to during the relevant on-sale period. We will be sure to advise members as soon as possible of any “Fully ticketed” games expected for the 2022 season.

Easily! For any game that is not 'fully ticketed' you can either use your membership to scan into the venue and find seating in the general admission area or standing room.

Flexi Members with ANZAC Day access (that is any Flexi 8 or higher membership) must upgrade to a reserved seat during the advertised Member pre-sale to secure a reserved seat. Upgrade prices will be published online once confirmed. Members with a Flexi 4 or Mighty Bomber membership do not have access to this match and must purchase a reserved seat ticket via the general public ticket on-sale if they wish to attend.

On-sale dates at times will be advertised on the club website, and communicated to members via email once confirmed.

Maybe. You qualify for a concession priced membership if you are a full-time student or if you hold a 2022 pensioner concession card issued by Centrelink, the Department of Health and Community Services, the Department of Community Services or the Department of Veteran Affairs. A Heath Care or Health Benefit card will not be accepted.

You may be asked to produce your valid concession card upon entry to any game by the gate attendants if you are scanning in using a concession membership or ticket.

To be eligible for a Junior Membership, your little Bomber must be 5 years of age or more and under the age of 15 as at 1 January 2022. Juniors aged under 5 at 1 January 2022 are entitled to attend matches without a Club Membership or ticket, however they must not occupy a seat.

To be eligible for a Youth Membership, you must be 15 years of age or more and under the age of 18 as at 1 January 2022. Youth pricing is a new addition to our 2022 packages and is available on all game access memberships.

There are two ways to get a reserved seat as part of your membership. If you do not have specific seating requirements, purchasing a membership with reserved seat access online is the quickest and easiest way to go.

You will be able to purchase multiple memberships and manage them all from the one account, including providing the details for the other members at the time of purchase.

Once you have completed the purchase our membership team will allocate you the best seats available at both Marvel Stadium and the MCG.

However, if you have more complex seating requirements, such as accessibility needs or if you are looking to sit in a specific location, including with other members, it is highly recommended that you give us a call on 03 8340 2000 to allow us to handle the process for you. Our friendly membership team have significant knowledge of the reserved seating process and locations at both Marvel and the MCG, so will ensure your requirements are met as best as possible.

Absolutely. During the membership renewal period (between two seasons), you will be able to retain your existing reserved seat(s) by ensuring you renew ahead of the cut-off date. We will always provide advance notice of the impending cut-off date via both email and SMS, but if you have any concerns or need more time before you can commit again for the following season please don’t hesitate to let us know, we will do everything possible to assist.

Absolutely, however it is subject to there being availability in the location you are looking to move to, in some areas this is not an issue, but in others we are almost at capacity.

If you are looking to move seats prior to the cut-off date please let us know so we can record your request. We won’t make any changes until members have had the opportunity to renew again for the following season, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to register your desire.

Once the cut-off date has passed and at any time during the season, members are welcome to contact us and request a seat change or discuss their options, but again any opportunity to relocate will be determined by the availability of seats within your membership category and location.

Lastly, we prioritise requests for seat moves based on member tenure and in order of requests received, so while we will do everything possible, a request is not a guarantee.

Unfortunately not. It is highly likely that the seats around you are held by other reserved seat members for the season so there is no opportunity to purchase guest seats from game to game. Memberships are transferable however, so if you are likely to bring different guests to matches across the season we recommend you purchase an additional reserved seat membership so we can ensure you are allocated the number of seats you require.

Yes, you can. If you do not wish to renew your reserved seat but would like a family member or friend to take it moving forward, get in contact with Member Services and we can arrange that for you. If you wish to only transfer your seat to another person for a single match only, there is a seat transfer feature available through your EssendonFC account, or your mobile membership card on the Essendon FC app. There is a cut-off prior to each game that a transfer must be completed by which will be communicated via email during the season.

Sure, although we’ll miss you during the year! You can put your membership on hold and we’ll reserve your seats for next year for one year only. There is a fee associated with doing this, so please give Member Services a call on 03 8340 2000 to organise this for you.

Your Member Number or Account ID is a 7-digit number that starts with either 1, 2, 3 or 4. It can be found on your membership card, as well as on all correspondence from the Club. This is the number to quote when you call the Member Services team, or in any other communications with the Club.

Your membership barcode is a 12-digit number used for match access, redeeming or upgrading tickets, and for finals access. You can find your barcode number(s) by logging in to your EssendonFC account here.

We heard our National members when they told us they wanted better value for money when it came to securing tickets to watch the Mighty Bombers in their home state. Accordingly, all National memberships now include discounted access to secure a ticket when the Bombers come to town, while all the other great National membership benefits, including access to four home or away games in Melbourne, remain unchanged.

You will receive an email from the Club in the lead up to the Bomber’s game(s) in your home state with all the details on what you need to secure your tickets.

All members wishing to receive their 10% discount will be required to create a new account through the Bomber Shop website prior to making their first order. Please follow the below steps to create your new Bomber Shop account:

  1. Click on Register in the top menu
  2. Tick “Yes” you are a club member
  3. Provide your Membership Email – Enter your email address that exists on your membership account. If you do not have an email address linked to your membership account, please contact the membership department on 03 8430 2000 or email at membership@essendonfc.com.au
  4. Provide your Membership Password – Enter your Membership Login password, if you do not know this you will need to reset your password on the membership website
  5. Bomber Shop Password – Create your Bomber Shop password. This can be the same or different from your membership password.
  6. Reconfirm your new password for Bomber Shop
  7. Fill out your personal details
  8. Tick you agree to the Privacy Policy
  9. Prove you are not a Robot
  10. Click “Create Account”

Every 2022 member will receive a core membership pack including a commemorative wallet, collectable 150-Year Anniversary medallion and member card, and bumper stickers. These core packs will begin hitting mailboxes in February 2022.

Adult members in their first, or a milestone year of membership (e.g. year 5, year 10, year 15 etc) will also receive a separate tailored membership pack that includes a scarf, beanie and membership patch detailing their years of membership. These will begin distribution just prior to Christmas 2021. Adult members who are not in a milestone year of membership will receive a Bomber Shop coupon that can be used either online or in-store to secure items from our member range or to put towards another purchase such as a guernsey or football.

All junior members will continue to receive a pack each year and these will be on their way from December 2021.

The Advantage Payment Plan gives you the option to pay your Essendon membership upfront or split over up to ten payments* across the year, automatically. It is a simple and hassle free way to make sure you don the sash each season, and continue to enjoy your membership benefits without interruption.

If you join up on the Advantage payment plan after one or more payment dates have past, the first payment will be a larger one to bring you in-line with the instalment schedule.

You will be given the opportunity to join up on the Advantage Payment Plan at your time of purchase, so please advise us should you not wish to be placed on the plan.

At the commencement of the next membership season, your membership package will automatically renew with the total cost charged to your preferred debit or credit card, on the same instalment structure as the previous season.

You will be contacted no less than 28 days prior to the date of automatic renewal giving you the opportunity to make any changes to your membership or opt out of the automatic rollover for that year.

The Advantage Payment Plan provides a hassle-free way to renew your membership each year, ensures you keep your same reserved seat each season and makes your membership more affordable by splitting your membership payment over monthly instalments.

Not necessarily. All memberships purchased online or over the phone are placed on the Advantage Payment Plan, but you may opt out post purchase by advising us via email or phone call.

All members on the Advantage Payment Plan will have the opportunity to opt out at the end of each season.

The two main ways to opt out of the automatic renewal are advising us by either email or phone call prior to the rollover date, which will be advised each season. We will always provide you with no less than 28 days notice that your membership will be automatically renewed.

Yes, absolutely. If you hold a Government issued Companion Card, you are entitled to one complimentary membership for your Carer.

Once you purchase your membership, send proof of your Companion Card via email to membership@essendonfc.com.au or mail to PO Box 17 Essendon VIC 3040. Once approved, we will issue a complimentary membership that matches the membership purchased.

A family membership is the perfect way to go if you have a brood of Bombers. And even better, they don’t even need to be all your brood! Family memberships can be purchased by friends, work colleagues and neighbours, as long as you are happy for one person to be nominated as the family head. Family memberships include 2 adult memberships and up to four junior and/or youth memberships (under the age of 18 as at 1 January 2022.)

It is often easiest to purchase a Family membership over the phone, so please give us a call on 03 8340 2000 when you are ready to Don the Sash.

Members are able to update personal details though their EssendonFC Account here. You are also able to pop us an email at membership@essendonfc.com.au or give us a call to update your details anytime.

AFL members with Essendon Club Support are required to contact the AFL Membership Department on 1300 722 515 to update your details, which will then flow through to us the following day.

If you have a concern with your recorded consecutive years of membership please get in touch with us via email anytime, or by calling 03 8340 2000. We will investigate any inconsistencies and amend them should they be found to be inaccurate.

Once you are signed up, you will receive an email within 24 hours from AFL Live Pass which includes your access code and instructions on how to set up your account.

Amazing, we love the passion and energy that our Bomber Squad members bring to every game of the year. As it is so popular, there is a wait list to join the Bomber Squad at this time, so any applications need to be made via email to membership@essendonfc.com.au. These will be reviewed as they arrive, and depending on availability we may need to capture further information from you before providing you with a Bomber Squad membership.

While Bomber Squad members are not expected to attend every game, failure to attend and engage in Bomber Squad activity, including banner making, may mean your Bomber Squad membership is relinquished or not renewed the following season.

Great question! There are two ways to ensure you are there on the last day in September along with the Bombers. The first option is to purchase either a High Mark or Silver Reserved Seat membership, which both include priority 1 access to Grand Final tickets should the Bombers participate. This is of course only one benefit of many to donning the sash, including your own reserved seat for all home games, away game access and merchandise and partner discounts. The second way is to purchase a Grand Final Guarantee along with an eligible membership. This will provide you Priority 2 access to Grand Final tickets, meaning you can be there at the big dance. Please note, neither High Mark and Silver memberships, or a Grand Final Guarantee includes a Grand Final ticket itself, this must still be purchased by following the instructions provided to members in the weeks leading into the Grand Final.

Firstly, great choice, we couldn’t think of a better gift than donning the sash! We regularly get questions from members looking to buy memberships for friends and family.

The easiest way to do this is to give us a call on 03 8340 2000 and let our team know you are buying this as a gift, then we can manage the process for you and can even provide a certificate or similar if you need something before their member pack arrives.

If you are wanting to buy online, but keep the membership a surprise, the key steps are;

  • Don't use their email address
  • We will send a confirmation email to the email we have on file once the membership is purchased, so don't ruin the surprise by using their email address
  • Membership packs do take time to arrive so leave at least 2-3 weeks from the time of purchase for the full pack to arrive
  • If you have left it a little too late, do not be troubled as our Membership Department are great at helping when it comes to providing personalised cards or certificates to aid your surprise

Once you have gifted the membership, give Member Services a call and we can update the contact details accordingly.

If you aren’t worried about keeping it a secret then simply use all the details of the intended recipient during the purchase process, that just means they will thank you for it earlier!
